How to Play
The Zombies adventure starts with setting your bet size.
Start by choosing your Coin Value, which goes from $0.01 to $2. We recommend starting with a lower coin value at first. Then choose the Level – that goes from 1 to 10. There are 20 paylines, which are active at all times. The Max Bet button will set your bet size to the highest Level, but not change your Coin Value. After that, you’re good to go.
Now, Zombies does have a reputation for having a slightly longer return cycle. So it’s recommended that you try out the AutoPlay function, where you can set the number of rounds the pokie will spin automatically.
Zombies’ special symbols are:
- Scatter: 2 vials holding a radioactive potion
- Wild: Says “Wild” on it
- Stacked Wild: A zombie coming for you
High value symbols are:
- Circular Saw
- Gas Mask
- Machete and Bludgeon
Graphics and Sounds
Zombies is set in an abandoned shopping mall and employs a 2D comics style. The graphics, for a NetEnt pokie, is certainly not mind blowing, but it’s still a well done, good-looking game. The soundtrack is a bit creepy but not too intrusive. It does get a repetitive after a while, but the mute button can be found in the bottom left of the screen.
Spinning 5 circular saws will get you 1,000 times your bet – so try to go for a higher Level in your bet size. Admittedly, this is not scarily high, but the Zombie Score Feature is an easy place to get a lot of coins quick – we managed over 4,000 coins in one round. If you get lucky with in your free spins and also shoot enough zombies, a total of 100,000 coins can be won.
A relatively simple video pokie, Zombies does have some crazy features packed into it:
Free Spins Feature
Spin 3 or more Scatters on Reels 2, 3 or 4 to activate 5 free spins.
During free spins, there is a multiplier. The first spin is just 1x, the second spin is 2x your bet line, third spin is 3x, fourth spin is 4x, and the final fifth spin is 10x.
Zombie Score Feature
After each spin in the Free Spins feature, the reels will fade away and a random number of zombies will appear. A gun will come out and shoot the zombies, and you will be rewarded with extra coins.
Stacked Wild Feature
This is when you have more than 1 Wild on top of each other, and only appears on Reel 3. The Stacked Wild looks like a zombie walking towards you, but sometimes only part of it appears. In these cases it will be nudged either up or down to cover the entire reel to form a winning payline.
Random Wild Feature
After any spin in which Free Spins or Stacked Wilds was not activated, a random wild can appear. Up to 6 symbols can be transformed into Wilds to help you score that winning payline.
Zombies is a relatively slow video slot from NetEnt. That’s not to say that it’s bad, but it does take a bit of time before the action catches on. And when it does, all the special features can make it quite rewarding. And that is what makes this simple pokie a popular game. Free spins and zombie shooting are lucrative adventures, as can be seen with the 97.2% RTP.
