PlayLuck is a new gaming site offering Kiwis all the gaming fun they can handle, with a decent welcome bonus. The vibe is bright and fun, and they aim to offer a top-tier casino experience.
- Top software providers

- Live dealer games
- Very slow support
PlayLuck Casino Review
PlayLuck is new on the scene, opening its virtual doors in May 2020 — the vibe is bright and fun, with a nice clean layout. While they are new, they look like they are heading in the right direction to attract keen Kiwi punters with a decent welcome bonus and very good game selection.
Welcome Bonus
If it seems like new online casinos are popping up all the time, well that’s probably because new online casinos are popping up all the time. The first and most important way a new casino will attract your attention is with their welcome bonus.
PlayLuck is no different, and their offering looks like this:
- First deposit — they’ll match you 100% up to $200 plus 200 spins on Starburst
- Second deposit — they’ll match you 50% up to $100 plus 30 extra spins on Starburst
- Third deposit — they’ll match you 50% up to $100 plus 30 extra spins on Starburst
- Fourth deposit —they’ll match you 100% up to $100 plus 20 extra spins on Starburst
Something to note, before you sign up, the currency is all in Euros, but it all goes to NZ dollars once you select that option.
It may not be the biggest welcome bonus we’ve come across, but it should be enough to get the attention of most kiwi gamblers.
Wagering Requirements
Just because PlayLuck are new on casino street, doesn’t mean they’ve forgotten about creating wagering requirements. It’s a reality of the game — all gaming sites do it, so the best we can do is read the fine print for you so you don’t feel ripped off. In PlayLuck’s case, their wagering requirements are 35x on the bonuses you receive when you sign up. So that means if you get $100 in bonuses, you’ll have to gamble $3,500 before you can withdraw that bonus money. Depending on your point of view, that might seem high, but in reality, it’s not too bad compared to the industry average of about 40x. Some online casinos can get really greedy here and make requirements of 45x or more, so we don’t have too much of an issue with PlayLuck’s approach here.
PlayLuck’s wagering requirement of 35x on your bonuses is a little bit lower than average for the industry, so we give them a small golf clap for not being greedy.
Top Pokies
From what we can see, PlayLuck offers well over 1,000 pokies, so any red-blooded Kiwi Punter should be kept pretty happy for a few hours at a time.
All the top titles are there both classic and new:
- Starburst
- Fruity Friends
- Mighty Sphinx
- Gonzo’s Quest
- Twisted Sister
- Reel Bandits
- Rainbow Charms
- Jack and the Beanstalk
- Conan
- Fruit Case
- Wild Bazaar
- Plus hundreds and hundreds more
While you are able to search by game, you can’t filter the pokies in any other way than video or classic. While this might not be a deal-breaker for you, we always get a bit annoyed when a casino site doesn’t take this extra little step for its visitors. At the end of the day though, it’s all clean and easy to navigate, so no major complaints from us!
PlayLuck has so many pokies that your hand will get sore from scrolling. We only have one small complaint — you can’t filter by the kind of pokies you are looking for.
Promotions
So we’ve already talked about the pretty decent welcome bonus on offer for Kiwis signing up to PlayLuck, but there are two other promos to talk about. The first being their ‘Arena of Gold’ promos, where you play their Gold Roman-themed slot and top the leaderboard to win a share of $5,000. Honestly though, the links on the page didn’t work, and it said the promo was from a month ago at the time of writing. Not exactly slick stuff by PlayLuck here! The other promo, that is at least current at the time of writing, was to enter their Redrake’s Summer Fun Tournament. This one lets you play their Super 12 Stars game, and win a share of $7,500 — pretty simple.
PlayLuck offers a couple of promos beyond their welcome bonus, but one of the promos was out of date, so we’re not sure how consistent they will be with future promos.
Mobile Gaming
PlayLuck is pretty new to the scene, so thankfully their mobile gaming experience is very good. This has a lot to do with the fact that they have teamed up with all of the top software developers, who have made their games from the ground up to be suitable for mobile. For the most part, all of the games you play on the computer are fully playable on your mobile phone or tablet. There is no complicated app to download, just load up PlayLuck’s website on your Android or iOS phone or tablet, and you are good to go. In general you don’t miss out on any of the features, so you get the full casino experience, just a little bit smaller and pocketable!
PlayLuck’s mobile gaming experience is excellent, and we put that down to being a nearly brand new site that partners with top software developers.
Software Providers
When you are offering thousands of games, there is always a risk of throwing in dozens, or even hundreds of sub-par games just to look more impressive. Thankfully though, PlayLuck isn’t guilty of this, and they have teamed up with all of the top tier, super reputable software providers to ensure you’ll find all of the A+ titles. Take a look at their massive range of software partners:
- NextGen Gaming
- Play'n GO
- NetEnt
- Microgaming
- Thunderkick
- Evolution Gaming
- Lightning Box
- Pragmatic Play
- Big Time Gaming
- Betsoft
- Blueprint Gaming
- Quickspin
- Red Tiger Gaming
- Ezugi
- PariPlay
- NeoGames
- iSoftBet
- Ainsworth Gaming Technology
- IGT (WagerWorks)
- Elk Studios
- Realistic Games
- Amaya (Chartwell)
- 2 By 2 Gaming
- Just For The Win
- Playson
- Plus dozens more
PlayLuck has no shortage of software partners, in fact, they have a crazy amount of developers on board — that means you’ll almost definitely find what you’re after.
Games
PlayLuck has 1,000 plus games onboard, and given they have so many good software developers onboard, it’s pretty safe to say a lot of those games are pretty decent. In terms of game genres beyond pokies, they have a pretty good range there too:
- Table Games
- Scratch Cards
- Live Casino Games, with all forms of Baccarat, Roulette and Blackjack
While the layout for the games is pretty good (you can sort by Featured, New, Slots, Classic, Table Games, Scratch Cards, and All Games), you can’t search by most popular, which is a bit of a bummer. All in all though, there are a gigantic range of games on offer, and it’s all set out quite nicely.
PlayLuck offers thousands of great games across all of the genres you’ll be looking for. We would have liked it though if you could sort by most popular, but that’s a small complaint.
Banking and Payment Methods
PlayLuck has a better than average range of banking and payment options for Kiwis:
- Visa
- Mastercard
- Skrill (online payment option)
- Neteller (online payment option)
- Paysafecard (prepaid card you can buy from dairies)
- Ecopayz (online payment option)
The minimum deposit is $20, which is a little bit high, but not too bad. Deposits on all options are instant, but withdrawals will vary from 6-8 days for Visa and Mastercard, to 3 days for the other options. One weird thing we noticed was that after we made our first deposit from MasterCard, we couldn’t find the other options to deposit with. That might just be us, but keep that in mind.
PlayLuck has a really good range of banking and payment methods for Kiwis, but we couldn’t get access to the other options after we paid via Mastercard.
Customer Service
Okay we get it, New Zealand is on the other side of the world, and so there are time differences to take into account when you are looking for support. We had an issue where we couldn’t see our welcome bonus being applied, so we contacted them. It took them 3 days to reply via email (there is no live chat). Now granted, they did solve our issue — but honestly, 3 days is too long. 3 days is long enough to start to doubt whether they were trustworthy or not. Again, they did eventually get back to us, and they solved the issue — but in a world of instant chat bubbles, we don’t see why they had to take so long.
We found PlayLuck’s support to be helpful, but woefully slow. That may not matter to some, but when we’re in a jam, we like prompt replies.
Conclusion — The Gist of It
There is no question that PlayLuck has a massive variety of games, and you’ll have a ton of fun there. If you are okay with our issues with customer service and their iffy promos, we don’t have any issues telling you to knock on Lady Luck’s door with PlayLuck.
