Microgaming, one of the world’s leading game developer has done it again. At the 2016 Global Gaming Awards in September, Microgaming won the award, ‘Digital Product of the Year’ for its Quickfire platform. It’s the third year in a row that Microgaming has snatched this coveted title.
The Global Gaming Awards is like the Oscars for the online and land-based gambling industry. Held once a year, a panel of 60 judges comes together to vote on the best of everything in online gaming. This year, the Awards were held at Venetian Palazzo Congress Center in Las Vegas.
The judges gave Microgaming the top prize for game developers for Quickfire’s innovative and agile delivery. Quickfire is platform that has set high standards in the gaming industry by delivering Microgaming’s 600 casino, bingo, live dealer, poker and multi-player games to over 400 online casinos as both a complete and standalone solution in mobile and desktop gaming. Earlier on in January, Microgaming released Quickfire IQ, which gives operators greater ease with their free game, bonus and other incentive offerings. The prize was presented by Alex Hammond, editor of Gambling Insider.
Since its launch in 2010, Quickfire has taken the online gaming world by storm. Celebrating the product’s success, Andrew Clucas, Director of Quickfire, said, “The platform has emerged as the product of choice for operators who require immediate access to the best online gaming content from Microgaming and select development partners.”
The night didn’t end there for Microgaming. On top of this big win, the MPN Babelfish API came in second in Digital Gaming Innovation. Babelfish is an API specifically for poker that allows third-party poker game clients to integrate into MPN servers and systems. With Babelfish bringing in more clients, MPN has been seeing month-on-month growth and is now one of the biggest online poker networks.
